CONGRATS cheater, i have one on the way due in September. I can't wait. I've got the carrier hanging in the closet. My office is being turned into a baby's room. I have 4 tv's in here all cabled up to watch games GONE.

WHAT's the best set-up for a laptop. Where I can go about the house wireless, this could be a good thing, Sitting by pool making bets, AHH the bright side. I allready have a TV mounted to the house on the Lanai for watching sportscenter.

congrats cheater and 5team as you become fathers..

let me tell ya . its the greatest thing ever invented.. i have a 9 year old.

when you tuck them in at night , you cant wait until morning so you can see them and hug them again.

i drop her off at school and the 6 1/2 hours cant go by fast enough until i am there to pick her up..

i love every second of being a dad.. i hope you do too...

p.s. a losing wager wont seem such a big deal anymore when they come in the room and say hi dad ..

Cheater-

I have an 8 week old. I NEVER thought I would be into the fatherhood thing but it is pretty cool so far. BTW, I have the Baby Bjorn...it's pretty gay but very useful.

Robfunk-

I'm in my 30s. One reason I decided to start the family now is that I really didn't want to be an old man trying to keep up with a teenager.

Having my first child at 34, at 31 i was not ready and can't say I would have seen myself in the postion I am in now. I found the right person which is very important, and I am much more financially set and am more mature than when I was in my 20's. The only gambling I do is on sports. For some reason though I feel there is more of a stigma on sports betting than going to a casino and playing table games or going to the horse track. I have way more control over the sports thing and it is far less time consuming than driving to the local casino and spending hours there IMO.

I have 2 boys ages 7 and 9. I didn't start betting on sports full time until AFTER they were born. When they start arguing and fighting, I've got 3 TVs in the garage along with a computer and it's time for GAMBLING!! I hope your kid came with instructions, mine didn't...

My kid's pediatrician said the same thing.

In order to drive a car you have earn your license. When you buy a car you get a 300 page manual.

When you have a kid, the hospital says congratulations and sends you on your way (after a couple of classes).

My view is that there are 17 year old idiots in the hoods and trailer parks who manage to raise a child, I think I should be able to figure it out.

Swami, they don't raise their children, tax payers do...

We are also in the same boat as you guys ... My wife is a nurse; she reads all the baby books and it helps to a certain extent...

Swami, is your child sleeping through the night yet? we are getting 7 hour stretches at the most and he is 3 months.

NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!

My little guy can sleep 4-5 hours at a time but we can't seem to get him to:

1) Do it every night and
2) Sleep longer than that.

When did he start sleeping 7 hours at night? What is the secret?

We've tried putting him on a schedule but much of what we've been told is that he is too young to accept and be on a schedule. Most say that one day he will "get it" and start sleeping through the night.
